Speaker request form
Requesting a colloquium or seminar speaker
The Speaker Request Form is required for any colloquium talk and for any seminar talk requesting funding
Complete the Speaker Request Form at least four weeks in advance and send it to Henry and Margaret, who can also answer questions about the process.
If the speaker is requesting funding, it will be approved only after the speaker completes the Travel Reimbursement Banking Information Request (potentially also the International Wire Transfer Form) and sends it to Margaret.
The Visitors and Colloquium Committee will review your request and make a funding recommendation to the department chair.
Seminar speakers are scheduled with the individual seminar. For colloquium speakers, check the current schedule for open dates. Additional useful information is available on the Information for Colloquium and Seminar Hosts and Information for Colloquium Speakers pages.
For longer-term visitors, see the department’s Visitor Request Forms page.
Typically, each faculty member can receive support for one colloquium speaker or two seminar speakers, up to $900, in each academic year. Faculty with active funding are expected to contribute a substantial portion of their visitor’s expenses.
