Mathematics at the University of Florida in Gainesville: The First Sixty-Five Years

By Paul Ewing Ehrlich

Provenance of this web edition: The Introduction is signed by Paul Ewing Ehrlich and dated December 3, 1996; the surviving 476-page PDF’s metadata records that file’s creation on January 22, 2012. This reading edition was reconstructed from that PDF and Internet Archive captures of two web editions hosted on Theral Moore’s pages at www.math.ufl.edu/~theral and theral.net. It follows the web editions’ nine-chapter organization: they present Thomas Taliaferro and Andrew Sledd as Chapters 1 and 2, while the PDF places both in Chapter 1. The text is collated from all three witnesses rather than copied from a single web version, with the PDF used as the authority where surviving wording differs.
