The Department of Mathematics hosted the 2025 SouthEastern Logic Symposium (SEALS) during the weekend of March 1-2, with additional colloquium talks on February 28 and March 3. Held annually in early March, SEALS brings together researchers in set theory, computability theory, and other areas of logic to share recent advances and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration.
This year’s conference featured three plenary lectures and parallel special sessions in set theory and computability. SEALS has long served as a unique venue for interaction between different branches of mathematical logic, and the 2025 meeting continued this tradition with vibrant discussion and new research connections.
SEALS 2025 was organized by math faculty members Dana Bartosova, Robin Tucker-Drob, Jindrich Zapletal, and Doug Cenzer. The event was supported by the National Science Foundation, the UF College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Department of Mathematics and the UF Office of Research.
