Tristan Goodwill

Tristan Goodwill

Tristan Goodwill joins the Department of Mathematics as an assistant professor in Fall 2026. Before coming to UF, he was a William H. Kruskal Instructor at the University of Chicago from 2023 until 2026.

Tristan earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University in 2023 under the direction of Michael O’Neil. His dissertation was On the solution of elliptic partial differential equations on surfaces: Regularity and numerical approaches. He earned his B.Sc. in Honours Integrated Science (Physics), with a minor in mathematics, from McMaster University in 2017.

His research interests include numerical analysis, fast algorithms and the analysis of partial differential equations in mathematical physics.

Rachel Frankel

Rachel Frankel joins the Department of Mathematics as a lecturer in Fall 2026. She comes to UF from the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College.

Brian Ransom

Brian Ransom joins the Department of Mathematics as a visiting assistant professor in Fall 2026. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine in 2026. His research is in logic.
