John R. Klauder Memorial Conference and Fund

A memorial conference celebrating the life and legacy of Distinguished Professor John R. Klauder and his lasting contributions to mathematics and physics was held at the University of Florida on February 15, 2025. Organized by our colleague Professor Sergei Shabanov and sponsored by the Department of Mathematics, the Institute for Fundamental Theory, and the Advanced Theoretical Physics Fund (Department of Physics), the event featured invited and local talks, as well as a special session of personal reflections and tributes that highlighted Professor Klauder’s deep intellectual influence and mentorship.

In conjunction with the event, the John R. Klauder Memorial Fund has been established through the generosity of Professor Klauder’s family. This fund is an enduring tribute to his legacy and will provide lasting support for graduate research in the Departments of Mathematics and Physics — fields to which he devoted his career with brilliance, vision and passion. We are sincerely grateful for this gift, which will continue to inspire and empower the next generation of scholars.
