Prof. Youngmin Park Received NSF Grant

Assistant Professor Youngmin Park has been awarded a three-year NSF research grant for his project “Collaborative Research: Phase-Amplitude-Based Reduced Order Modeling and Analysis of Strongly Coupled Neural Oscillators” (Award #DMS-2512988), starting September 2025.

The project will develop new mathematical tools to analyze neural rhythms and their role in cognitive function, with applications to brain disorders such as schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. This is a collaboration with colleagues at the UF College of Medicine and the University of Tennessee. It will also support graduate training and outreach programs that engage high school students in research and mathematical modeling.

Congratulations to Prof. Park!
